Scam Fighter Review of themindtask.com

As we have observed in our previous reviews of sites such as ExpenseFriend, Ebookcase, Geeker and more, there seems to be a trend of dubious companies providing subscription services whose business model appears to be to lure unsuspecting consumers into signing up for hefty monthly subscriptions with the promise of free prizes and a 3-day trial.  Though these companies are technically not doing anything illegal, it is difficult to believe that they have the best interests of their customers in mind. We received several complaints about a website named Themindtask.com which seems to be following similar dubious business and marketing practices.  Themindtask Review As soon as I visited Themindtask’s website, I saw a familiar offer for a €1 trial and a ‘Membership reward of Apple iPad. This offering is identical to the 97 brain training websites we uncovered in a previous review. I found it extremely odd that the website has multiple ‘Cancel my subscription’ buttons prominently displayed. Though it is a customer-friendly practice, it hints that Themindtask expect’s people to visit their website with the primary intention of cancelling their subscription. Reading the fine print reveals that the “Membership reward” is not for every subscriber. Only the member with the “highest activity” will win a prize every month even though it is portrayed as though anyone who signs up will receive an iPad. Subscribers are only eligible for the reward after they have already subscribed for 90

Company Review

The identify of the website owner has been hidden. This may be done for a valid reason as spammers use this information to email website owners. Unfortunately is also makes identification of the owner difficult. We prefer if the website does show his true identity.

Webshop Review

The Tranco ranking of this website is low. This can be considered low in relation to other websites from the website's country. If you think this website should be very popular, please invest additional time in researching the company as this is suspicious. For a smaller or starting website a low ranking can be considered normal.

We lowered the themindtask.com review score as we found several websites on the same server with a low trust score. Online scammers have a tendency to set-up multiple malicious websites on one server, sometimes more than hundreds. You can see which websites we found under the "Server" tab on this page.

We recommend you read our article "How to recognize counterfeit products" before you proceed. This website has received one or more votes that it may be selling fake products. If they do, we recommend not buying from them. Apart from the fact that fake product sellers often do not deliver, the products may be endangering your health and you may be supporting other criminal activities as well.

The domain name of this website has been registered several years ago. In general, the older the website the more trustworthy it becomes. However, scammers sometimes buy existing websites and start doing their evil thing, so please make sure you check for other scammy attributes as well.

We tried to analyze the content of the website but we failed. It may mean a temporary technical error, that the site is not active, there is no content, or that the website is actively blocking our efforts to analyze the information it is offering. As we analyze more than 2 million websites every month we recommend caution. Extra research to determine if this website is legit or a scam is recommended.

Technical Review

The website is being hosted in a country with a high level of fraud and corruption according to the International Banking Federation. The risk of doing business with these kind of countries is therefor higher.

No SSL certificate could be found. For smaller websites who only share content and do not require you to create an account or fill in a form, they are still okay. For any other website this is a serious security breach as communication between your computer or mobile and the website is not secured.

As the influence of the internet rises, so does the prevalence of online scams. There are fraudsters making all kinds of claims to trap victims online - from fake investment opportunities to online stores - and the internet allows them to operate from any part of the world with anonymity. The ability to spot online scams is an important skill to have as the virtual world is increasingly becoming a part of every facet of our lives. The below tips will help you identify the signs which can indicate that a website could be a scam. Common Sense: Too Good To Be True When looking for goods online, a great deal can be very enticing. A Gucci bag or a new iPhone for half the price? Who wouldn’t want to grab such a deal? Scammers know this too and try to take advantage of the fact. If an online deal looks too good to be true, think twice and double-check things. The easiest way to do this is to simply check out the same product at competing websites (that you trust). If the difference in prices is huge, it might be better to double-check the rest of the website. Check Out the Social Media Links Social media is a core part of ecommerce businesses these days and consumers often expect online shops to have a social media presence. Scammers know this and often insert logos of social media sites on their websites. Scratching beneath the surface often reveals this fu

So the worst has come to pass - you realise you parted with your money too fast, and the site you used was a scam - what now? Well first of all, don’t despair!! If you think you have been scammed, the first port of call when having an issue is to simply ask for a refund. This is the first and easiest step to determine whether you are dealing with a genuine company or scammers. Sadly, getting your money back from a scammer is not as simple as just asking.  If you are indeed dealing with scammers, the procedure (and chance) of getting your money back varies depending on the payment method you used. PayPal Debit card/Credit card Bank transfer Wire transfer Google Pay Bitcoin PayPal If you used PayPal, you have a strong chance of getting your money back if you were scammed. On their website, you can file a dispute within 180 calendar days of your purchase. Conditions to file a dispute: The simplest situation is that you ordered from an online store and it has not arrived. In this case this is what PayPal states: "If your order never shows up and the seller can't provide proof of shipment or delivery, you'll get a full refund. It's that simple." The scammer has sent you a completely different item. For example, you ordered a PlayStation 4, but instead received only a Playstation controller.  The condition of the item was misrepresented on the product page. This could be the
